State Report Cards

Dear Mascoutah School District 19,

The Illinois State Board of Education has released the annual Illinois Report Card at Illinois Report Card. The Report Card contains school performance data from the 2022-2023 school year.

As the report card will show, our Mascoutah 19 schools continue to excel within the state adopted assessments. It’s important to remember though that our schools are more than test scores. Our schools here in Mascoutah 19 focus not only on academic success, but also on mental health and social-emotional growth. We work closely with our families and entire community in order to create an educational atmosphere that engages every student, every day.

Our teachers, support staff, administrators, and school board members, in partnership with you, are continuing to focus on the following goals for this school year:
  1. Using the PLC model to collaborate for student achievement.
  2. Increasing student achievement levels as measured by various assessments.
  3. Maintaining student and staff social-emotional well-being.
  4. Celebrating the diversity of our community while ensuring equitable access for all students within an inclusive environment.

One component of the Report Card is the annual summative designation—a federally required accountability category. It identifies schools for support and describes how well a school is meeting the needs of all students based on eight indicators of performance. Included in those indicators of performance are measurements of Math, ELA, and Science proficiency, as well as other indicators like chronic absenteeism and high school graduation rate.

I am incredibly proud to announce that the summative designations for all five Mascoutah 19 schools lie within the Exemplary/Commendable range. The individual school designations are as follows:
  • Mascoutah High School – Exemplary
  • Mascoutah Middle School – Commendable
  • Scott Elementary School – Exemplary
  • Wingate Elementary School – Commendable
  • Mascoutah Elementary School – Exemplary

In Mascoutah 19 we celebrate our strengths and successes, but we will always continue to work hard on continually improving so that every student can reach their fullest potential. We believe every single student can meet high expectations, and by working collaboratively between school, home, and community, we will continue achieving great things.

Thank you so much for all you do and congratulations to the entire Mascoutah CUSD 19 school community.

Sincerely,
Dr. Dave Deets
Superintendent
